And so it begins!!!

In May 2014, I started work for Stepping Out in the Future Business Centre and little did I know it would be the beginning of an exciting journey that would see me starting my own business less than 18 months later.

For those of you that don't know, the Future Business Centre is a building designed to house Social Enterprise businesses in Cambridge and within the centre there is a start-up hub called Social Incubator East. The environment is very much about starting businesses and doing amazing things. I have to say it has rubbed off.

I started to think about setting up this business in April 2015 and it began with 'what would my website look like? What have I got to offer other businesses?' as I drove home one evening.

And there it was right in front of me.

Wherever I have worked throughout my career, I have always been the person you go to if something needs doing, always full of bright ideas (some rather wacky) and always prepared to get stuck in.

Alongside that, I was upset to see so many individuals from MD's and Business Owners to staff members working hard hours and still at their desk nine o'clock at night.

I thought surely there has to be another way.

There is another way and one of the most regular things I hear from people is don't try to be all things to all people and ironically that is exactly my aim.

I want this business to be the go to business that our clients call on for everything. I don't want them having to manage numerous relationships with suppliers, I don't want them to have to spend days or weeks trying to find the right person for them.

I want this business to take work off the hands of those working so many hours their children are shutting their laptops for them and begging them to play.

Don't do it. Call The Work Bees and instead enjoy a game of Hungry Hippos with your children of an evening.
